At a meeting of the Association's Executive Council today Simon Hoare was readopted as the Party's candidate for North Dorset at the next General Election.
Commenting on his readoption Simon said, "I am as honoured, thrilled, privileged and proud to have been readopted as our Party's candidate for North Dorset at the next General Election as I was in January 2015 when you first selected me. A lot has changed in the intervening years but two things have not. First, my deep and overriding commitment to serve and represent in Parliament all of the communities that make up where we are lucky enough to call home. Second the sustaining bonds of friendship and common endeavour I am fortunate to have with our Association and our Councillors.
My enthusiasm for public service remains undimmed. My energy for the tasks ahead irrepressible. My love for North Dorset and her people a constant. To be an MP is not a job. It is a vocation. It is a calling. I don't represent square miles in Parliament but rather the values, hopes, shared commonsense, ambition, aspiration of those who live here. It is the honour of my life to serve you and all of North Dorset. From the bottom of my heart: thank you for your continued support, friendship and encouragement."
