Verwood Conservatives held their AGM today at the Hub attended by over 25 enthusiastic members and supporters and guest Simon Hoare MP.
Newly re-elected Chairman Cllr Carol Traves outlined all the great work that had gone on in Verwood during 2025 to both raise funds and the profile of Conservatives in the town. She said that the help of her Branch Committee had been invaluable in organising their many events including the Fish and Chip Quiz, “The Blue Bar” at the Rustic Fayre and the memorable Bucking Broncho BBQ.
Carol paid tribute to the retiring Branch President Mike Castro thanking him for his leadership and hard work. Then was delighted to announce that the number of Branch members has grown to close on 60 now and they have an exciting programme of events planned for the year, the highlight being an authentic Hawaiian Laua with Aloha shirts, muumuu dresses and flower garlands.
Simon Hoare thanked Carol and the Verwood Conservative family for all they do to support him and their Conservative Councillors Spencer, Toni and Simon.. He also spoke very positively about the progress party has made since the 2024 General Election and his confidence for the future under the leadership of Kemi Badenoch.
