Conservative Councillors are determined to persuade Dorset Council to do more to help beleagured businesses across the county. But the Liberal Democrat administration are not willing to support us. Responding to our call, the Lib Dem Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration, Cllr Richard Biggs, said "Fundamentally I have to disagree that this is an emergency"
Local businesses are facing unprecedented challenges and there are things the council could do to help.
Conservatives believe there is a moral as well as financial case for supporting the economy. A growing economy helps everyone, including public services. Confident, thriving businesses hire more staff, pay better wages and help young people stay in Dorset in well paid jobs and decent homes.
We will continue our campaign to support our struggling businesses.
